Friends of Lorne is keenly interested in the development of the Point Grey and Slaughter House sites,
currently being reviewed by the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee (GORCC).
The GORCC website currently states:
“The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee recently announced that more work is required on the draft
masterplan for Lorne’s iconic Point Grey and Slaughterhouse sites before it is publicly released.
Recent discussions with key State Government agencies identified the need for more work to be
undertaken before the draft masterplan can be released for public comment.
Following the initial community consultation conducted earlier this year and the release of the ensuing
Place Essence Report in September, the project team has been working hard to prepare the draft
masterplan with the intention to release it to the community and other stakeholders for comment over
the summer period.
GORCC is looking forward to releasing the draft masterplan for consultation as soon as the additional
work is complete, which is likely to be in the first few months of 2010.”
Friends of Lorne is awaiting the release of this report before developing set viewpoints regarding the
sites. If members wish to contact the committee with their views on the development please email
