Pt Grey and the Slaughter House sites

After community workshops and input from community groups GORCC’s consultants have produced “An

Essence of Place Report” drawing on ideas put forward. Included were some, ’what we do want / what we

don’t want’ features. Over development, a proposed breakwater, were in the “don’t want” category

while walking paths that link the foreshore path with the tramway track, a history precinct, new

restaurant, some environmentally sensitive eco tourism facility on SlaughterHouse site, low key boat

launching for fine weather at Pt Grey, and the Aquatic Club were among the “do want” possibilities.

Since then a master plan has been drawn up by the consultant’s but has not yet been released for public

comment and this is not now expected this year.
